Ether & Void: The Primordial Balance

Ether is the radiant life‑force that binds creation together, the positive essence from which all magic flows. The Void is the consuming anti‑force, a negative entropy that unravels magic, matter, and meaning.

The Main Factions of Aetherion

The Covenant

HUMANS

Humans are the youngest of the known races, with a significantly shorter lifespan compared to Dwarves and Elves. Despite this, they are renowned as achievers and innovators, responsible for some of the greatest discoveries of the modern age. Their adaptability and ambition have made them a driving force in shaping the world.

HIGH ELVES

Elves are the oldest of the known races and the most skilled practitioners of mana. Their kingdoms are situated within some of the world’s most prominent ethereal zones, places where magic flows freely and nature thrives. Elves can live for centuries, and their deep connection to the natural world makes them fiercely protective of their environment.

DWARVES

Dwarves may be short in stature, but their resilience and strength make them among the boldest and hardiest of all the world’s inhabitants. Their kingdoms are carved deep within mountain ranges, where they have mastered the art of mining and forged a reputation for groundbreaking innovations—most notably their mastery of dark powder.

KALEN'TIR

The Kalen'tir are the proud denizens of the southern Scarab Desert—a feline race whose primary pursuit is knowledge. Towering taller than humans, they are formidable warriors and, much like the Elves, highly proficient in the use of mana. Their culture blends intellectual curiosity with martial prowess, making them both scholars and defenders of their desert homeland.

THE DOMINION

NECROMAGES

The Necromages are human outcasts who have delved into the forbidden arts of dark magic. Dwelling in the desolate northern wastelands, they are pale-skinned and gaunt—appearing more dead than alive. Their mastery of shadow magic has made them some of the most formidable warriors in existence, feared and respected across the realms.

DARK DWARVES

The Dark Dwarves of Terralode were once among the most prominent clans of Bellegast. Like their Dwarven kin, they are strong and resilient, and their exceptional forging skills are renowned across the world. Their craftsmanship is legendary—some of the deadliest orcish weapons ever wielded were forged by the Dark Dwarves themselves.

DRAGONKIN

The Dragonkin dwell in the towering mountains west of the Scarab Desert, their secluded plateaus inaccessible to ordinary travelers and reachable only by dragon flight. Masters of mana and formidable warriors, the Dragonkin embody both strength and mysticism, guarding their highland domains with unmatched prowess.

ORCS

Orcs are a fierce humanoid race of brute strength and savage warriors, dwelling on the southwestern island of Dalador. Despite their reputation for ferocity, Orcs are deeply connected to the earth, serving as its protectors. Their shamans are not only wise and intelligent but also exceptional leaders and strategists. Time and again, Orcish forces have proven to be a formidable match for human armies on Illdoridri, earning respect across the realms.
